Background:
I began my psychotherapy career as an addiction counselor in an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) in Elizabeth New Jersey. This was an inner city hospital setting. This population was mandated to treatment and as a result were very oppositional. Part of the disease model of addiction is manipulation. I learned how to recognize manipulation and help the client develop healthy techniques for healing in this program to deal with life. In this setting I learned how to become a street smart counselor with an empathic ability to listen with an open heart.

My next position was with the Princeton Medical Center in Princeton, New Jersey. A very beautiful upscale town; the opposite of the inner city town I just left. Guess what, same problems. I was in charge of an IOP program for adolescents and adults. I worked many nights. This posed a problem because I had a two sons at home. I didn’t feel they were receiving enough supervision. So I got lucky and nailed a job working as a Trauma/Crisis Counselor in a school district close to my home. Great hours…I was home by 4:00 p.m. I remember the first week I was home by 4:00 p.m. I said to myself, “What do people do at this hour of the day?” Oh, they watch Oprah! Eventually, I did get adjusted and loved it. I used the time to make some very good dinners and spend time with my husband of thirty years and my sons.

This brings me to one of my passions - cooking. I love to cook and present these dishes to my family. When my sons were young, I actually saw them grow with each meal. I would put the food down and say “another few cells came in today.” I would see it in my mind’s eye. While working as a Trauma/Crisis Counselor, I decided to enter the Barbara Brennan School of Healing in 2013. I said goodbye to the most perfect job in the world for me and entered the Barbara Brennan School of Healing. This is a four year college course based on research and science. This course teaches how to maintain optimal flow and balance of the human energy field. Eventually, dis-ease can result due to imbalance and unhealthy flow. I have included Energy Healing as a modality to help people that may be stuck in a cycle of negative messages from their childhood. People who have a hard time moving forward and finding that elusive place called peace can benefit from a Energy Healing.

Energy Healing is a source of insight into your own longing in life. It helps you to listen to the sweet song of joy in your heart. You may ask yourself…..”What is it that I long to do?” This brings me to the present. I offer Energy Healings and psychotherapy for my clients at Conscious Choices. I enter this phase with an open and loving heart to manifest a Divine Channel of Grace to All Evolving Souls. My areas of expertise that can be included in Energy Healing include:

I continue to work as a psychotherapist with a psychoanalytic approach to the process of talk therapy.
